Right now I should be over Nevada or Idaho but I am waiting at the airport pick up to go back home. The flight got delayed and then cancelled. Tire trouble or faulty wings or something.
Seems like the flight was cancelled training was a little brief. A planefull of very confused people getting very poor instructions. I could tell from my bag tags they were still on the plane so I didn't rush to the baggage carousel and instead joined a long line at the dark and empty Iberia counter. At one point I went to the front of the line to see if they knew more than the back. They didn't but an agent did confirm that they were about to start.
I figured I wouldn't lose that much if I got my bags which the tags said we're at the carousel. At least the bag was but the bike was only nearby. I got the bag but everyone with oversized was still waiting and asking the agents. I did show them the tag location and she passed a photo to someone and maybe that got things moving. The bike and a bunch of baby strollers suddenly showed up at the oversized bags area.
While all this was going on Laurie was calling Iberia and I got booked on a flight tomorrow out of Dallas. I think I get to hang out in Dallas for a long time and have to pick up my bags which I get to lug around the airport.
On my way to the curb I stopped by the Iberia counter to see where I would have been. I lost a lot of places. I yelled out to some people I had been standing with that I booked on the phone and that it might be faster.
I get to do it all again tomorrow with an extra layover in Dallas. So looking forward to that.
