Day 11 - Arauca to La Pintada

Tonight we were supposed to be in Medellin but yesterday made that far too long of a ride.  We decided La Pintada and booked a fancy place.

We were at the panaderia at 6am ... well, Andy and I.  I drank coffee. And several others. No Mike.  At 6:30 I went back to the hotel an knocked on his door.  He was sound asleep.  More coffee for me and a late, late start.

We started back up the hill out of town and onto to stretch of road for the third time.  Not long after it started raining.  The road was fantastic and the rain was warm so no big deal.  Rain means no pictures as everything is wet and I can't see anything with wet glasses

Then we started to encounter construction.  Lots off one direction only for miles. Fortunately, Motos and bike ignored the signalman and just went through.  The surface varied from good to really bad.  Mostly bad.

Mike was having tire trouble and I had to give him my spare tube.  He was out of sorts and not very efficient at changing the tire.  The crazy construction traffic was not his thing.

The constitution went on for 50 to 60 kilometers, almost to La Pintada.  The rain lasted until we were checked in at the hotel.
We got some lunch and Mike wanted to see if he could get a tire. Our waiter said there was a shop around the corner.  There were some guys beating on some bikes and they directed us to a shop which sold bike part two doors down who directed us to a lady across the street who sold tubes and pretty much only tubes.

The hotel Villa Camila Finca Hotel is quite nice. Nice gardens, nice pool, great room, ok restaurant and we will know about breakfast in the morning.
