We had some pastries and coffee in Gigante and I could not swallow the bread. We started riding and by the time we got to Garzon I was done and out of gas. Some amazingly good scrambled eggs could not restore me.
At this point the boys stuck me on a bus. I was packed in and just way too big for the row. My knees got crushed by the chair ahead. I also could not see out of the window as the top of the window was below my chin. Bouncing around I fell asleep and I seemed to need that.
In Pitalito I got a hotel, showered, rested and waited for the guys.
Pitalito is a lot more upscale than I expected. It is pretty nice. It is the largest coffee producer in Colombia. It was a pleasant 80 degrees and sunny.
We made a trip to the Specialized bike shop. I needed new shorts and gloves. Mike and Andy got their bikes tuned and cleaned. Mike got a new tire.
For dinner we walked around and ended up this odd place. The waiter was pushing the sushi but we stayed away from that.
What was the odd place you ended up having dinner? you made me curious about it... like maybe a bit more of description or a missing pic? just wondering. Sorry that you have had this bad day, I'm mean as a fellow cyclist although maybe not as experienced as you, I understand how it feels but also good to be able to understand yourself, like self-compassion, you know and figure a way out of the inconvenient.
