This morning we had a fancy breakfast at our fancy hotel. Since it served at 8:30 we thought get ready beforehand and go right after. As usual that didn't work. Breakfast took a while because it was fancy. In France I think we have averaged about 4 hours of dining time each day.
We packed up and strapped on the helmets, ready to go. Almost, Laurie's front tire is flat. Since this was a thrice patch inner tube I thought it was time to put in a fresh one. 5km later I patched it. I think tubes are good only after you have patched the factory installed holes.
We were on the canal a few blocks from the hotel. Laurie was tiring fast and she didn't have much in the tank. The plan was for her to ride what she could and then take the train that ran beside the canal and route all day. At noon we pulled into a town with a train station and saw a train pull out of the station. The next train was in 2 hours.
We got some sandwiches and I pushed off. I still had over 80km to ride. I kept the pace up but was feeling a little tired myself.
Laurie got to the hotel less than an hour before me. Bikes came in the room which has been a little rare.
Laurie's sister's husband's cousin Suzette lives in Toulouse and offered to take us out to dinner. Suzette and Jean Marc picked us up, gave us a tour, took us to dinner and drove us home. It was a really great evening.
